INGREDIENTS
MCT Oils are unique super fats that convert directly to energy, encouraging your body to burn fat for fuel, rather than glucose.
Melrose Kick Start MCT Oil contains C8 and C10 medium chain triglycerides (MCTs). Caprylic Acid (C8) is known to increase energy, boost ketone production, and assist in weight-loss. Capric Acid (C10) has similar actions to C8, though as it is a slightly longer chain, taking longer for the body to process it, sustaining the energy increase. Kick Start is a great choice when you're starting out, either to compliment your ketogenic diet or to help increased sustained energy throughout the day.
About MCTs:
Derived from 100% sustainably farmed coconut oil, Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCTs) have slightly shorter fatty acid chain compared to the fats and oils from animal and plant sources, which contain Long Chain Triglycerides (LCTs) (e.g., fish, avocado, nuts, seeds, corn, peanut, safflower, and soybean oil).
MCTs are metabolised differently compared to LCTs, as they are directly absorbed into your portal circulation and do not need to be emulsified like long-chain triglycerides. MCTs optimise energy production for your body, specifically during periods of fasting, or when following a low carbohydrate diet. MCTs are converted to ketones which boost satiety, provide alternative energy source and improve mental focus.
